Wordy Wednesday – Beryl and Her Tree!

I’ve got a weeping Silver Birch tree in the back yard that Beryl loves and she is really going to miss it when we move.  Here’s what she likes to do …

This is so relaxing
Mmm, almost
Ahhh, that's the spot
This is MY tree!
I see you:)
Mmm, I'm about ready for a snooze:)
I think I will go to sleep now:)
I luffs my tree:)
Can we take my tree with us, pretty please, Mum?

She loves to stand under it when there’s a gentle breeze blowing and get softly brushed by the leaves.  Sadly we don’t have a tree like it at the new place:(

What does Frankie think of Beryl and her tree?

Not much
This is what you call a tree, Sis!
You can really do things with a tree like this
Like walk on it ... are you watching me?

And jump over it
You wanna have a go, Mum?

Oh, Beryl’s a trancer! I’ve always thought it would be sweet to have a dog who trances. I think you’d best get a new tree planted for her highness before you move her over there!

What is a trancer? Sounds very hippyish, lol. Yes, I will try and find a suitable replacement for the Princess or else she might run away back here!

Of course you know who will have to take the place of that tree for Beryl, don’t you? I can see it now. Sue gently running her fingers over Beryl’s back. Sue blowing in Beryl’s fur. I hope you’re not expecting to do anything else. You’ll be on true duty, full time.

Good thing Frankie can find his own.

Um, I already do that, Pamela! She’s got a ‘sweet spot’ just in front and behind her hip bones and I tickle gently with both hands and she jiggles around and puffs a lot. I’m a meer stand in for the real thing though!

I think we know what one of your first jobs at the new house will be. You can’t leave her without a trancing tree. 😉 Hopefully you’ll still be able to visit Frankie’s tree too. The last pictures of each of them are excellent.

Beryl looks so cute in that tree!! Fiona has a couple of pine trees that she likes to scratch her back on, pointy needles work great. 🙂 So missed hearing from you and just catching up on your new house news! How exciting!! Moving is such a pain, but once you get there it so much fun to start all over. Good luck!

I love weeping trees, they are the best. We had a huge weeping willow in a house we lived in for a while (or, well, in the yard) and it was amazing. Maybe you can plant Beryl her own little weeping tree and watch it grow up?

Oh Beryl *sigh* you look so lovely, though I do wonder if you’ve taken some mind altering drugs in the first few shots! I’m sure Mum can order a fully grown willow and have it ready planted for when you move in. After all, it would be a sign that she disn’t really love you if she didn’t….. hehehe! Looking cool Frankie my man! Deccy x

You are going to hjave to get one of those trees for the new place. I know it will take years to grow, but she can sit under it and dream of that day.

    Love Frankie’s expression:)

  9. Never Say Never GHs

I have heard it called trancing. Reagan does it. She positions herself inside a bush. I wonder if the light touching feels good.

What a great way to use a tree, Beryl! I like getting scratched too. Maybe your mama will plant a new instant one for you in your new house. Frankie! I thought you were going to pee on that tree LOL.

    How’s the packing going? x

Gorgeous photos! Both Beryl and Frankie have great taste in trees. Maybe you could just tie a bunch of feather dusters to a post for her while your new tree grows, :). Beckett trances too, and he LOVES to be rubbed in that same spot on his back as Beryl does. Maybe that has something to do with it. He seems quite ticklish on his back. Good luck with your move! Did you decide to hire out?

    • Greyhounds CAN Sit

Lol, the feather duster idea is a good one as far as Beryl is concerned but they would last about 15.75 seconds if Frankie saw them:) Something else I’ve had to learn to keep out of his reach! This trancing is interesting. Beryl only does it when she’s under her tree though, she’s too busy jiggling and foofing when I tickle around her hips to trance:)

I’m probably going to use the bosses van and friends to shift now as I’ll be doing it over a month. The lady whose house I’ve bought hasn’t found herself somewhere yet so she’s going to rent the self contained flat that is attached to the double garage from me. Hopefully that will be very temporary! Beryl and I will go down and stay in the house at weekends and shift stuff then. The woman has got 5 cats that she can’t afford to put in a cattery so Beryl will be muzzled and Frankie will have weekends at kennels, which he doesn’t mind as he gets to play with lots of dogs:) Not an ideal situation but I couldn’t turf the woman out homeless:( Plus it will give me time to organise fencing to ‘Frankie-proof’ the front lawn area and tidy my place up to rent. So it’s not all bad:)

Beryl’s tree seems to suit her well. Maybe you should look into moving it with you! 🙂

Hey where’s the picture of Mum jumping over the tree? Gosh, I know Mum surely indulged Frankie’s offer.

Beryl looks so content and happy. It looks like something I might have to try. I wonder where I can find one of those trees.

You’re VERY kind and understanding re: the moving in arrangements. I would probably have asked the lady to move her cats in with friends rather than muzzle and kennel my dogs. I can be nasty that way. Hope she has a deadline!

I’ve been looking for your email addie but for some strange reason, I can’t seem to find it in my contacts list. Considering how many times we’ve written each other, it’s a mystery. Anyway, when you have time, drop me the addie?

    Have a great week x

Hey GLP, I think there is a conspiracy going down because I can’t find your email addy in my contacts either!! Nor can I find any old emails. I’m wondering if we’ve been abducted by aliens? So hopefully you will get this as I can’t find your email on your blog and I know you used to have it there! Anyway, mine is berylsmum@greyhoundscansit.com 🙂

Yes, I am kind and understanding, to my own detriment at times … hopefully I won’t regret it this time! I’ll confess to being a couple of blogs posts behind reading your blog but you aren’t alone in that regard:) I will catchup but right now I’ve got to take the kids for a walk and then try and do at least one, hopefully two, videos for GAP, and maybe even squeeze in packing a couple of boxes.

Let me know if you don’t get this, OK? Just kidding;)
