The DPD requirements include 30 courses, of which UNC provides 15 courses (31 credits) online. No matter which program you choose, some required coursework will be completed prior to or during your enrollment in this Distance Dietetic Program.
DPD (Prerequisite) Course Requirements. All courses taken to meet DPD requirements must be approved by a graduate nutritionDPD adviser and completed prior to receiving a DPD Verification Statement. a. DPD courses may not be taken for graduate credit with the exception of Research Methods, NUTRGE.
2190, and Nutrition Education NUTR The DPD Director will complete the DPD Course List form based on the program requirements for the catalog year in which the applicants degree is being evaluated, and will record the catalog year on Dpd coursework requirements form. DPD requirements are built into the clinical nutrition major and students who graduate with a degree in clinical nutrition will concurrently be completing the DPD. The DPD at Cornell is accredited through 2023 by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) and includes required coursework necessary to complete ACEND's knowledge requirements and learning outcomes.
Required DPD Courses Individuals who have already obtained a college degree in another field of study often desire to become Registered Dietitians. In order to do this, they must fulfill three requirements. The Didactic Program in Dietetics at UNCG provides students with the coursework necessary to apply for a supervised practice program in dietetics.
Students successfully completing didactic program requirements at UNCG are issued a DPD verification statement as proof of program completion. DPD students are awarded a Verification Statement after they have completed the DPD coursework and met the core knowledge requirements. You will need a Verification Statement in order to enter a Dietetic Internship andor for other licensure procedures. The Clinical Nutrition major provides a strong foundation in the biological and social sciences, with advanced coursework in metabolism, nutrition and foods. The academic coursework within the major includes University and College requirements (including General Education, American History& Institutions, and English Composition) and the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD).
