New Friends Who Are Old Friends!

Last Tuesday we hooked up with some fairly new friends for a trip to the beach.  We didn’t go to ‘our’ beach but another one we like about 45 minutes away.  It was a perfect Winter’s day for a beach walk and our dogs all had a blast.  You may be wondering how new friends can also be old friends?  Well, our 3 friends would all be considered senior or old dogs!  Bridgette and Lilly came into GAP about a year ago when their elderly trainer died.  Bridgette is nearly 11 and Lilly is nearly 10 and nobody wanted to give these senior girls a home especially as they had to stay together.  Then Stu came along and opened his heart and home to the girls and they joined him and his 12 year old Akita (Kuma) on New Year’s Day.  And 2 months ago Go Go came to live with them all too.  Go Go will be 8 in August and nobody wanted him either!  It makes me laugh to remember when I first got Beryl.  She was 3 1/2 and hmm, I thought that was a bit old, lol.  Now she will be 7 in October and nobody better tell her she’s almost a senior dog!!

Anyway, here are some photos of our time at Scotts Ferry showing how there’s plenty of life in the old dogs yet!!

What a great post. Stu’s a Greyhound angel. I tell you…what “senior” wouldn’t want to look and act like a Greyhound senior? Beautiful.

Wonderful photos! It’s lovely to see them all happy together and blossoming in their new home with Stu. Krissy has a special soft spot for GoGo and sends him kisses – she travelled up from the South Island with him and tells me he was a perfect gentleman on the journey… Licks from me to Bridgette and Lilly (and the beautiful Beryl, of course!) and manly woofs to Frankie and GoGo! :-)

Love from Solo and Krissy xx

I can well believe Go Go being a perfect gentleman with Krissy as that’s what he is with everyone. Such a lovely chap in looks and nature. I will pass on your licks and woofs to those concerned, thank you Solo and Krissy xxx

Looks like you’ve made some wonderful new friends.

So what does it mean for a greyhound to be a senior? They only run 35 mph (oops, 56 kph)?
